Be careful what you ask for. You may well get it.
And happiness, love, contentment, and joy don’t always come from what we think we want. Often, they’re hidden in the stuff we thought we didn’t want.
Crow has shown me again and again, it’s best to be yourself and let Love guide you. That’s where the real Joy lands.

My Thoughts on the Work
My aunt said to me, “You really are the Black Sheep of the family,” when I was maybe 12 years-old. I didn’t understand it at all then. There was no Google to ask, so I asked a few adults. The answers on what a Black Sheep was were vague and didn’t make a ton of sense to me then. Now, I know what she really saw was that I didn’t belong. I was not what was wanted.
As I worked through the grief of my mother’s death, this not belonging aspect came up again. I may be different, but Mom and I found ways to make a good relationship despite that. I wasn’t the one she wanted, but not always does happiness follow when you get what you want. I had to be me. She came to appreciate me as I was and stopped asking or expecting me to be what she wanted. It was empowering and healing for both of us. I always was enough, and she died knowing it.
