Have you ever wondered why it feels so good to lean up against a tree? Especially when you’ve just been through something traumatic?
Deep into the soil, Roots reach for the building blocks of what’s to come. Tucked away in their plan is a beautiful new beginning. Renewal. That’s their aim. They carry something new into the world with each inch of reach.

My Thoughts on the Work
Root’s Reach marked a shift in my thinking on the Renewal Series. I began to think more about what it takes to renew or grow again, especially after chaos has ripped your world (or world view) apart. The Trees have always been good friends, offering healing and a longer perspective to me. As I worked on this piece, Walnut was foremost in my mind. Walnut’s power, at least for me, is in how naturally he sets out boundaries and defines a new space. Renewal requires clear boundaries, at least for part of the process.
